Skipper Dennis' small sons, Tristan and Kevin were firm: "Daddy must have company when he sails alone around the world!"
So Tristan and Kevin gave daddy a little cat, the day he left Stockholm (June 5th, 1995) short before he boarded his ship. Dennis Ören stepped aboard the Vega af Bergkvara holding the small kitten in his arms.
His sons named the cat Trivin Findus - the first part combining their names and the last name recalling a famous comic character.Many wondered: "How will Trivin Findus manage life on board?"
The boys had given a their cat a small floating vest and a fine small bed.
Trivin Findus got a full year's supply of catfood with him and several school classes
in Sweden gave him toys to play with during the voyage.Trivin Findus has grown a lot since June.
He is now a Big Cat!
He loves the waves and plays even more when the wind
blows and storms are imminent.
He is a true and genuine ship's cat.
When Dennis reports on his voyage, he will certainly
add messages from Trivin Findus as well.
